The Easiest Way to Fix the Clogged Drain is the Sewer Snake

We all face the clogged drain at some point, whether it is in the kitchen, bathroom, utility room, or laundry room. It is easy to find yourself frustrated with an even partially clogged drain, submitting to the ease of liquid drain cleaning solutions. However, the long-term solution can be found in the sewer snake, able to remove whatever the actual item is rather than pushing it farther down the line.

While Not Necessarily a Do-It-Yourself: The Sewer Snake is the Easiest Drain Repair

When the need to call for a solution to that pesky leak or drain clog arises, the issue can be solved quickly by the local plumber. Especially when they can arrive on the same day, the plumber running the sewer snake into the drain can remove any item that is clogging the pipe, leaving the water running smoothly and saving a great deal on any household water bills.

Because leaking pipes and clogged drains can cause up to about 10% wasted water usage annually, that equates to about 10,000 gallons of water. That means those little tiny dripping leaks that seem like nothing could be costing you a great deal. Just fixing that dripping faucet along could save about 3,000 gallons of water a year. Given that water is something not worth wasting, it is important to take care of these matters as soon as they arise.

Sewer Repair on Your Own

The sewer snake may not be something easily cared for, as the plumber or maintenance man is the one trained to use this equipment. So, there are always do-it-yourself tricks that can at least help with some immediate solutions if you have to wait a day or two for a bathroom or kitchen plumber to arrive on site. This can be searched online for ways to remove some of those pesky hir clogs from the tub drain, or at least find a temporary solution to slow drainage in the kitchen or bathroom sink. While the plumber will be able to provide more detailed information on comprehensive research, you could at least have things working better for a day or two until your appointment.

While not all plumbing or leak issues may be repairable on your own, including pipe leaks, water heater leaks, and many more, there is much to be said for working to maintain your in-home plumbing consistently. It is important to call a plumber any time there is a problem that you can’t handle on your own, or whenever you worry that there is a leak that is becoming more serious. Handling problems right away is the key to cost-savings and quality plumbing.
